Attorney Jamie Johnson Appointed to Wisconsin Governor's Judicial Advisory Council

1/15/2008

Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle appointed Lommen Abdo Attorney Jamie Johnson to The Governor’s Judicial Advisory Council (JAC). The JAC assists the Governor in making appointments to the bench to fill mid-term vacancies at the trial and appellate court levels. The Council of ten members is comprised of lawyers from around the state and representatives from the Governor’s office. The Council reviews and screens applications, selecting five to seven applicants for initial interviews. The interviews are conducted by the Council at the Capital in Madison. Following those interviews the Council recommends two to four candidates to receive a final in-person interview with Governor Doyle. The Council meets on an "as needed" basis and the members serve at the pleasure of the Governor. "I am very honored that Governor Doyle asked me to serve on the Judicial Advisory Council," Johnson said. "I look forward to assisting him in the very important task of selecting the most qualified and competent judges to serve Wisconsin citizens." Johnson is a trial lawyer and shareholder with Lommen, Abdo, Cole, King & Stageberg, P.A. a midwest-based firm with offices in Hudson, Minneapolis and New York City.
