University of Minnesota Proclaims September 25th "Bronko Nagurski Day"
9/27/2010
Bronko Nagurski is considered one of the greatest American football players of all time. As a University of Minnesota Golden Gopher, he was the first and only athlete to be named All-American at two positions in the same year. As a Chicago Bear, Bronko was one of the original "Monsters of the Midway" and led the Bears to several national championships from 1930-37 and 1943. In 1963, Bronko was enshrined as a charter member of the Professional Football Hall of Fame.
On September 25, 2010, the University of Minnesota honored Bronko Nagurski and his children with the Governor's proclamation of "Bronko Nagurski Day" and a halftime presentation of "Bronko Nagurski: A Minnesota Icon." Lommen Abdo represents Bronko Nagurski Enterprises, the company formed by Bronko's children to authorize and license the commercial use of Bronko’s name, likeness, images and Bronko Nagurski endorsed products. Nick Dolejsi, Tim Matson and Lee Hutton, some of the Lommen Abdo attorneys who work with Nagurski Enterprises, are shown above on the field during the game.
