Sweet Land Wins Independent Spirit Award

Our client, Ali Selim, won Best First Feature for his film Sweet Land at the Independent Spirit Awards. The film was also nominated for Best Actress for Elizabeth Reaser's performance. The event was held in a tent on the beach in Santa Monica, California and was televised on IFC. The Minnesotans were very sorry to miss the snow storm back home.
Sweet Land was also named as one of the top ten films of 2006 by the Los Angeles Times and by Entertainment Weekly. This is significant praise for a micro budget independent film from Minnesota. Sweet Land competed with studio films of $100 millions and more. Both the LA Times and Entertainment Weekly are important and well-respected periodicals, especially in the entertainment industry.
