Our attorneys are well-versed in representing creditors in bankruptcy in Courts throughout the United States. We actively protect our clients’ rights as secured or unsecured creditors in bankruptcy through an active motions practice, including motions for relief from the automatic stay, to compel administrative payment and claims resolutions. We also have considerable experience in the defense or prosecution of preference actions, avoidance actions and other adversary proceedings. We currently represent four Fortune 500 companies as their national bankruptcy counsel by utilizing, when necessary, local counsel hand-picked for their expertise and reputation. Our centralized national preference practice enables our clients to achieve significant savings on attorneys’ fees, because we act as primary counsel and negotiate and prepare all pleadings to be filed in each jurisdiction at our Midwest hourly rate, which is often significantly lower than most of the most active bankruptcy jurisdictions. Using a centralized system for preference actions allows us to get to know and understand the work of our clients so that we can help them track and create the records needed. It also allows us to re-utilize arguments tailored for each jurisdiction – all reducing the ultimate cost to our clients.

Our firm’s experience in defending employers and insurers in the workers’ compensation system, as well as providing coverage representation to insurers relating to workers’ compensation issues, provides a strong foundation for the collection of delinquent premiums.
