Bob Abdo is co-chair of Lommen Abdo's Business Law group. He concentrates his practice on securities, real estate, estate planning and business and corporate law matters, including mergers and acquisitions, employment, contracts venture and other financing.
His clients include individuals and small and medium public and privately held businesses. He is a long-time member of the Hennepin County Bar Association’s Securities, Corporate and Real Estate sections; the Minnesota State Bar Association's Blue-sky, Corporate, Real Estate, Banking and Business Law and Entertainment Law sections and the Tax, Finance and Securities committee of the Art and Entertainment Law section; and the American Bar Association’s Business Law, Real Property, Probate and Trust sections.
He has authored various articles and has lectured about corporate and entertainment law matters and has been a visiting lecturer in securities law for entertainment lawyers at William Mitchell School of Law. He has been a member of various advisory boards of corporate clients.
Bob Abdo has been and continues to be active in local government and community activities. He has served two years as a Trustee on the Minnetonka Beach City Council (1987 to 1989), six terms as Mayor of Minnetonka Beach (1989 to 1995), a member since 1988 of the Minnetonka Beach Long Range Planning Commissions and Chairman since 1995 and a member and Chair since 2002 of its Railroad Task Force.
Other local positions included serving on the Minnetonka Beach Park Commission and the Lake Minnetonka Conservation District Intergovernmental Committee. He was the 1990 to 1991 President of the Minneapolis Athletic Club, where he also served as a board member for six years, Vice President, Secretary and Chair of its House Committee.
Mr. Abdo is President of the Lafayette Club Board of Directors, a member of the Executive Committee, and a past Treasurer and Chair of its Finance Committee. He also previously served in those capacities. From 1968 to 1974 he served in the U.S. Army Reserve where he was Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Personnel Officer of his unit.
Bob is rated AV (the highest rating) by his peers as published in Martindale-Hubbell and is listed in the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. He was named a “Leading American Attorney” in the categories of Small & Privately Held Business Law, Mergers & Acquisition Law and Security & Venture Finance Law.
