Lommen Abdo’s Professional Liability Section provides representation for claims involving attorneys, accountants, medical providers, hospitals, insurance agents, and other professionals in both Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Such claims include:

• professional negligence, 
• breach of fiduciary duty, 
• directors and officers liability, 
• professional licensing disputes, and
• insurance coverage issues. 

The Professional Liability Section is comprised of Phil Cole, Tom Jacobson, Kay Nord Hunt, Bob King, Stephen Rathke, Barry O’Neil, Sheila Bjorklund, Diane Odeen and Brett Clark.

This Section has extensive experience in handling complex cases. Phil Cole is a civil trial specialist certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Cole is also certified in both legal and medical malpractice by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys. Tom Jacobson is certified as a civil trial specialist by the Minnesota State Bar Association. Phil Cole, Bob King and Stephen Rathke have been recognized as “Super Lawyers” by their peers. Barry O’Neil and Sheila Bjorklund have each been recognized as “Rising Stars” by the Minnesota legal community in the area of litigation. Kay Nord Hunt, the chair of our Appellate and Insurance Coverage Section, also lends her expertise on these matters. Ms. Hunt is a member of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers and has also been recognized as a “Super Lawyer.” Each of our team members regularly speak at seminars and publish articles on professional liability issues.
