U.S. Treasury Department Delays Mandate for Employee Health Coverage


The U.S. Treasury Department issued an unexpected announcement on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 delaying the mandate for employers to offer health insurance coverage to their employees. The mandate, which applies to employers with at least 50 full time equivalent employees, was to become effective January 1, 2014. The new effective date is January 1, 2015.
